It’s simple! Sign up today and let your teen begin their journey into the world of robotics and technology. To learn more, visit our workshop, or contact us at info@xairobotics.com. We’re here to help your teen take the first step toward a future in STEM .

11. Can students use the workshop’s 3D printers for personal projects?

Our 3D printers are reserved for class-related materials to ensure equitable access for all students working on their projects. Similar to how a piano program encourages parents to invest in a home piano for practice, we suggest parents invest in a small 3D printer if their student wants to print diverse non-class-related items.

That said, our Pioneer Innovator membership provides students with additional opportunities to engage in the workshop, exploring advanced projects, honing their CAD skills, and receiving extended mentorship. While printing remains focused on class-related work, being in the workshop more often opens up a world of deeper learning and creativity under expert guidance.

This policy ensures that the printers remain available for coursework while maximizing the value of the resources and time spent in the workshop.

12. Do students keep the robots they build in the program?

Students leave with a world-class skill set and a portfolio of documented projects — not the physical robots themselves. The parts and materials used in our program are professional-grade and are reused to support future builds, just as world-class music academies reuse their instruments and engineering schools reuse lab equipment.

What members take home is more valuable: their skills, designs, and documented work (CAD files, code, videos, and project notes). This becomes a lasting record of their achievements, ready to showcase in college applications, internships, and future opportunities.

13. Can students keep their designs and projects?

Absolutely! While the physical components remain in the lab to ensure every Xaiborg has access to the tools and resources they need, each member retains full access to their project documentation and digital work. This includes:

  • CAD design files

  • Programming code (e.g., C++, Python)

  • Circuit diagrams and schematics

  • Project documentation and notes

  • Videos or photos showcasing their creations in action

These records form a professional portfolio that highlights a member’s expertise, creativity, and accomplishments. It’s proof of the real engineering work they’ve done at Xai Robotics — a resource they can carry into college applications, internships, and future careers.

14. Why don’t you have a parent lobby?

At Xai Robotics, our workshop is designed to immerse students—our Xaiborgs—in an authentic, professional-grade engineering experience. Every aspect of our space is crafted to foster creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning without distraction, providing your child with an environment that mirrors real-world engineering spaces. While we do not offer a dedicated parent lobby, parents are welcome to wait outside or at the restaurant conveniently located next door. This approach ensures that your child has the focused, high-quality learning experience they deserve while still keeping you close by.

15. What is the policy for late pickups?

At Xai Robotics, we carefully engineer every moment of the student experience—from precision-guided learning sessions to seamless transitions between classes and lab time. Late pickups disrupt this rhythm, affecting not only staff availability but also the overall workshop environment and flow.

To maintain the high standard of our programs, we apply a $15 fee for every 15-minute interval a pickup is delayed. This is rounded up, meaning that being 16 minutes late results in a $30 charge.

We ask all families to honor this policy so that we can protect the integrity of our space, respect our mentors' time, and preserve the world-class experience every Xaiborg deserves.

Membership & Payment Policies

At Xai Robotics, we operate as a membership-based robotics education program designed for long-term learning and skill development. Unlike drop-in classes, our structured model ensures that students receive consistent mentorship and project progression. As such, we require a one-month advance notice for cancellations to maintain continuity in our workshops and resource allocation.

To provide clarity and ensure a smooth experience for all members, the following policies apply:

1. Registration Fee ($49.99) – One-Time Waiver Policy

Policy:

  • New members never pay the registration fee.
  • If an account is suspended for any reason (late payments, voluntary withdrawal, etc.), re-enrollment requires a $49.99 registration fee.
  • This ensures accountability and prevents abuse of a month-to-month cancellation cycle.

2. Late Payment Fee ($20)

Policy:

  • If a payment is not received within 2 days after the due date, a $20 late processing fee is charged.

This can be paid via an online payment link.

Membership Pause & Re-Enrollment Policy

Can I pause my child’s membership temporarily?
Yes! Families are welcome to pause their membership for one calendar month per calendar year — no penalty, no questions asked. This is ideal for summer travel, short-term commitments, or family needs.

What happens after the one-month pause?
If no payment is received by the end of that paused month, the membership is automatically marked as inactive by our third-party billing system. At that point, re-enrollment requires a $49.99 reactivation fee plus the current month’s payment.

Why is there a re-enrollment fee?
This policy ensures class space is reserved for active Xaiborgs and helps prevent system abuse. Reactivating a cancelled account requires backend effort — and the fee helps offset that administrative load. It’s applied consistently across all families.

Can the pause be extended beyond one month?
Only in rare, pre-approved situations. In some cases (such as medical reasons), we’ve requested an extra month from our billing system on a one-time basis. However, this is not guaranteed, and any longer-term pauses should be discussed in advance.

What if I use Step Up for payments?
Step Up families can either request us monthly or choose a 3-month prepay option to avoid disruptions. If a new payment isn’t scheduled through Step Up before the pause ends, the system treats the account as inactive, and the re-enrollment fee applies.
